State Representative Ken King Announces for Re-Election in 2022

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PHONE: 806-323-3080

State Representative Ken King today announced that he is running for re-election to the Texas House of Representatives in House District 88. The newly passed district includes Andrews, Bailey, Briscoe, Castro, Childress, Cochran, Collingsworth, Donley, Gaines, Gray, Hale, Hall, Hemphill, Hockley, Lamb, Roberts, Swisher, Wheeler and Yoakum counties.

“It has been my honor to represent conservative values in the Texas House,” said King. “We had another great session, but there is still work to do. We must continue to increase border security, continue our progress in defending innocent life, lower taxes, protect the 2nd Amendment, and fight back against the spread of harmful socialist agendas like critical race theory.”

Ken King played a pivotal role in the 87th Legislative Session earlier this year, dubbed by the media as “the most conservative session in Texas State History.” King worked hard to help increase border security funding, pass Constitutional Carry, pass election integrity reform, and many other strong conservative bills.

During this Legislative Session, Ken King served as the Chairman for the Committee on Culture, Recreation and Tourism, which oversees agencies such as the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, the Texas Historical Commission, and the Texas Commission on the Arts. Leading this committee, Chairman King worked on legislation that promoted state parks, hunting and fishing, secured funding opportunities for local libraries, and studied the impact of COVID-19 on the state’s tourism industry.

Representative King continued his support of women’s health by passing a bill that requires health insurance to cover any ovarian cancer screening approved by the FDA. King also passed legislation to create the Texas Commission on Virtual Education. This was a direct result of the implications that COVID-19 had on schools in the State of Texas. He continued his work on Public Education issues affecting all students and teachers across the great state of Texas.

King runs energy service businesses and is the co-founder of the KK-125 Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation. Ken and his wife, Robin, live in Canadian, Texas and are the proud parents of two children.
